Plan the Perfect Arizona Staycation at The Historic Wigwam Resort!

Just 30 minutes from central Phoenix, The Wigwam feels worlds away—making it the perfect spot for your next staycation.

As soon as you pull into the resort, you're transported. Lush greenery and fragrant honeysuckle greet your senses, setting the tone for a relaxing escape. With roots dating back to the 1920s, this nearly 100-year-old property first welcomed guests as a retreat for Goodyear Tire Company execs—and that rich history is still felt today.

The resort’s old-world charm is alive and well. Stepping into the lobby, you're met with oversized wooden furnishings and a Western-inspired design that instantly transports you back to the Wild West of the ’20’s.

For our stay, we were warmly welcomed by staff members who guided us to our room—Suite #206—located just behind the Tower Pool. It was the perfect spot, especially with a poolside cabana waiting for us.

Our cabana came with lounge chairs, a cozy seating area, and our choice of chips and salsa or a fresh fruit plate. The newly renovated pool area is a true highlight: with two water slides, playful fountains, and spaces for both families and adults, it's ideal for soaking up the Arizona sun.

After our poolside lounge, we took a short stroll over to Red Allen’s Bar & Grill, right next to the golf course. The patio delivered everything we hoped for—live music, beautiful ambiance, and seriously tasty food. Our server recommended the burger, and it was the highlight of the meal! We topped off our dining experience with a warm Bourbon Apple Cobbler.

To end the night, we made our way to the adults-only Oasis Pool hot tub, a quieter alternative to the lively Tower Pool.

The next morning started with breakfast in our suite—fresh fruit, waffles, and bacon, delivered with a touch of charm (including fresh-cut flowers!) and the coffee was strong and delicious.

Before checking out, we grabbed one more coffee at The Wigwam Bar near the Tower Pool, then wandered the grounds, soaking in the sights, smells, and even a little bocce ball.

Whether you're looking to relax, reconnect, or just take a break without leaving the Valley, The Wigwam is a staycation dream. With three dining options, two pools, and a full lineup of summer fun on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to plan your visit.
